The Fringe Benefits of Being a Cop

One of the perks that come with being an agent of the state is that you can break with impunity virtually every law you are supposed to enforce. Traditionally, that has included small infractions like speeding, running red lights, and making illegal U-turns, as well as more serious crimes like conducting warrantless raids and gunning down unarmed men.

So, why should it surprise anyone that beating handcuffed, 60-year-old men in wheelchairs has been added to the list? Such is life in a society that holds its public "servants" to a lower standard than its citizens.
