After calling on Congress to help the economy with a convoluted stimulus package, to expand the government's reach into health care, to strengthen its role in education, to decide for businesses what constitutes free trade, to force Americans to reduce oil consumption and carbon emissions, and to engage in all sorts of other unconstitutional activities, he had to audacity to say that "we must trust in the wisdom of our Founders, and empower judges who understand that the Constitution means what it says." He then went on to promote his amnesty program for illegal immigrants and call for an expansion of the "war on terror," which he called the "defining ideological struggle of the 21st century" (whatever that means).
This president has no idea what the Constitution stands for. He thinks it's "just a g--d----- piece of paper." And this is the leader of the free world? No wonder the Union is in such a sorry state.

Perhaps what he means is that we must trust the wisdom of the 'judges' that he empowers to 'understand' the Constitution. You know, like when Abe Lincoln 'empowered' justice Roger Taney by issuing a warrant for his arrest when he claimed that the president had no lawful right to suspend Habeas Corpus.
