Netherlands Hospital Euthanizes Babies
(AP) - A hospital in the Netherlandsthe first nation to permit euthanasiarecently proposed guidelines for mercy killings of terminally ill newborns, and then made a startling revelation: It has already begun carrying out such procedures, which include administering a lethal dose of sedatives.
So much for the Hippocratic Oath.
Can someone tell me just what the hell happened to the medical profession? Has healing become a lost art? Many of us have been saying for years that this is exactly what we could expect from a society that no longer values the sanctity of life. First, it was unborn babies. Next came the sick and the elderly. Now we're performing post-natal abortions in the name of mercy.
What can we expect in the years to come? If we can justify killing other human beings because we think we are somehow relieving their suffering, what's to stop us from getting rid of those who become a burden on the rest of us? If the suffering of society at large can be eased by eliminating a few undesirables...
You'd think people wouldn't want to go through that again.
