Case in point: Campaign Finance Reform. President Bush signed this piece of trash into law on March 27, 2002—a vile, despicable act that can only be described as giving the finger to the founding fathers. He proclaimed, "I believe that this legislation, although far from perfect, will improve the current financing system for federal campaigns."
Bush's conservative supporters (as always) offered explanations like, "He's taking a key issue away from the Democrats," or "He's only signing it because he knows that the Supreme Court will rule the law unconstitutional." If that's true, then Bush's master plan backfired—big time.
Campaign Finance Reform was the most violent attack on the First Amendment in recent memory. Naturally, the conservatives defending Bush either fail to see it or refuse to admit it. With perception like that, it's no wonder the country is in such disrepair.
