Necons Have No Shame

It is easy to feel passionate about an issue when you have absolutely nothing at stake in the matter. Such is the case with Canadian "conservatives." In a column entitled Liberia Now, Adam Yoshida tries to make the case for sending U.S. troops to Liberia. He says that "by showing resolve in Liberia, where American interests are only tenuously at stake, the United States will show its resolve to act elsewhere that their interests are at stake."

Uh, yeah. Apparently this guy is completely ignorant of post-World War II U.S. military history.

Believe it or not, the man even links the war on AIDS on the continent of Africa to the war on terror: "A few million dollars could buy al-Qaeda a lot of friends in certain parts of Africa. More than that, the terrible AIDS crisis in Africa provides the terrorists with another opportunity: to recruit massive numbers of suicide attackers from the pool of HIV positive individuals." Don't these neoconservative hacks have any shame?
